Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the technical design and coordination of building services, infrastructure, and electromechanical systems. In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end mechanical engineering solutions—from thermal load calculations and HVAC layout design to plumbing, fire protection, and shop drawing preparation—ensuring full compliance with international standards and local authority regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Design HVAC and ventilation systems in strict compliance with project requirements and engineering codes.
  • Perform accurate thermal load calculations using Carrier HAP software.
  • Prepare detailed ductwork layouts, sizing calculations, and airflow distribution specs.
  • Design complete plumbing systems, including domestic water supply and drainage networks.
  • Prepare execution-ready Shop Drawings and technical office documentation for all mechanical works.
  • Develop equipment schedules, technical specifications, and accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
  • Review existing designs to identify Value Engineering opportunities that optimize system efficiency and reduce execution costs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven hands-on experience in mechanical design and technical office operations
  • Deep domain expertise in HVAC, ventilation, plumbing (sanitary/water supply), and fire protection systems
  • Proficiency in Carrier HAP, AutoCAD, and specialized duct/pipe sizing calculation software
  • Demonstrated ability to generate technical specifications, BOQs, and calculation packages.
  • Prior experience with Saudi Arabia (KSA) or GCC regional projects and familiarity with Saudi Civil Defense regulations is a strong plus.
  • Strong collaborative and interdisciplinary teamwork capabilities
  • Very good command of spoken and written English.
